Strong performances today in Kasterlee of our athletes!
Hans playing his role in front of the race from start untill finish with top 5 and even podium within sight untill the last lap into the run course!
After 10days of unexplainable pains on friday DNS was the most logical decision. After a visit to the osteopath the cause seemed detected and confidence came back, of course managing the pain for 8 long hours was one of the missions of the day. He managed and maintained courage to finish 7th in a very tough edition of Hel van Kasterlee (15K run – 115K MTB – 30K run)! Not his easiest day but a very exciting race to follow!
A bit further in the race Stijn was chasing his first finish in this LD duathlon. As a former MTBrider he started running 1 year ago and progressed strongly in it to finish very well and progress even in the 2nd run!
Bart (AG50) was ready for his 2nd Hel van Kasterlee, but after last year’s edition nobody could expect the circumstances would be even tougher maybe. The cold rains for 5hours non-stop played a role. Bart kept warm untill the last 4K but managed well to finish the race! A bit more to the front Gerd (afraid of exactly this weather) suffered with the cold rains and didn’t manage to keep his body warm. Fortunately shape was there and the finishline was within his reach!
Congratulations to our athletes succeeding in this tough LD duathlon. Probably the toughest in Europe!
