Our athletes on fire…

Magic May, that’s how we baptised this month…because of immediate wins on the first day of that month! But we’ll have to adapt this…to Magic 17 if things roll the way they roll right now! On this page a quick overview of the metal our athletes earned so far this season!

The weekend started with splendid results of Adrian in 70.3 Mallorca,  we knew from his last tests his shape was well, his shape was good. If nothing went wrong…he couldn’t be bad at all…

The most steady race in his young career so far ended up super well!

His swim was fast, his bikecourse he was powerfull and he came off the bike run well!

‘You run 3’50-4’00 pace’ we said before the race…he did and ran a regular 3’54/km after the tough bikecourse. In the end he realises 2nd place in his AG and 29th overall (pro field included).

Keep an eye on your pulse AND pace, it can prevent u from exploding at the end of the race!

It’s great to see an athlete evolving from a non-finisher ending up in the ambulance to a podiumdancer on the Ironmancircuit! Some people thought his 5th overall place in IM 70.3 Turkey was a coincidence…he prooves it’s not…at all!

Definitely an earned finger in the air finishing 2nd

Great determination and motivation in the head of this athlete, but that’s a must have for our athletes!

Sophie/raph went to L’eau d’Heure for winning the Amphiman swimrun. A big test with in total 38K running and swimming. The water only measured 12-13°C…cold!

For both this was a big test towards the World Championships in Sweden where they will have to conquer >60km of swimming, trailing and running!

They did great and with a 10′ advantage on the 2nd team together they could put this victory in their pocket!

Tough racing on this hilly and cold race course! Together they PULL eachother to their limits!

But these big races weren’t all this weekend. Our athletes managed to get in the front of the field of several races!

In Tournai (UCI 1.12C)Guillaume finishes 4th behind 2 French Professional riders who joined him in the breakaway…’total loss’ behind the race, so he did give it all!

Guillaume hidden in the leading group finishes first in Tournai (Belgium)

In Triathlons in Geel and Bilzen our athletes did very good races leading up to the bigger goals! In Geel it was Tony who got himself in the top 10, topping off his race with a 3’32/km 10K run!

Tony after his chase on the front of the field ends up 9th overall!

TonyBike.jpg

Tony is only swimming for 2years at the moment, so he MUST try to come back on the bike. With a 320NP he came off the bike in touch of the top 10 and his 10K at 3’32/km avg brought him to 9th!

But not only in belgium triathlon was on, in France (Choisy-Au-Bac) the first half triathlon of the season for a few of our athletes was planned! The perfect way to begin your season…Despite cold water to swim in and rain during the bikecourse! Arne, Michael, Toon and Hannah did great…with in the end an AG podium for Hannah!

And what if our long distance triathletes start running their PB’s in 10K races just before the season…in Fredericton (Can) Corey runs his PB and takes 3rd overall! Our athletes are on fire!

Corey running his fastest 10K split ever in Fredericton!

We couldn’t dream it better than how things are happening!

The output of working hard, working smart…but make sure the input is the right input 😉

Ciao
