Our next athlete, is the very strong endurance athlete Billy Vosnakis. He is one of Europe’s most challenging athletes. No race is hard enough for him…and every challenge he takes with both hands.
About an athlete with a really motivated spirit who likes to go Extreme and climbs on the mountains more elegant than any mountain goat! Let’s meet up and get personal….
1) Hi Billy, Can you introduce yourself? Who are you, where do you live? What is your nationality. Tell us a bit more about the person behind the athlete.
Hello.. my name is Billy Vosnakis, I live on the Island of Kefalonia Greece, I was born in Africa Cameroon & lived there for 15 years before I came to Greece. My Nationality is Greek.
I’m the Father of Yanni 15 & Katerina 13. My wife Barbara is Supporting & Helping me to become a better Athlete.
2) Have you got good training facilities, for run/bike/swim? What is your favorite type of training and where?
I’m very Lucky cause I build my own Gym under my Working Premises, I have a Small Family Hotel called Pelagos Bay Hotel , where I’m based I have the sea under my step & the mountains above me. I enjoy all 3 Disciplines… Swimming from Bay to Bay, Running on trails that i have made or on the coastal road overlooking the sea & cycling on the summit of Kefalonia Mt. Ainos.

No kidding, but this is the swimmingpool Billy swims in the most of his sessions. His own little paradise at Kelafonia Island, Greece. Just cruising the mediterranean!
3) How did you come in touch with our training methods?
I met Peter Timmers in Celtman, Scotland & I was very Impressed with his Performance over there!! I Call him No1 & he told me about Jesse, that he can help me become a better Athlete. Before I met Jesse… I was Diagnosed with OrthoSympathetic Overtraining stage 3. I have Burned my self out as I was training alone & always hard. With Jesse things have changed & I’m slowly Recovering from my Illness & things look much better.
4) What is your short and lang term goal in your sport?
I love the Extreme long Distance Triathlons…. I only Started in 2011 as I did my 1st UK Ironman & Ironman Wales, in 2012 Ironman Nice & after that I found out about more Harder events like Norseman X2 CeltmanX1, Swissman X2in June, Otillo X2 in September, Altriman X1 a Few Marathons, & a Couple of Ultra Mountain Races, 100+ km & 160km …. & a few more events that I cannot remember. I’m very Proud that I’m the 1st Greek in the AllX-TRI. Before that I was a Smoker, Drinker & Overweight !! the Sport has Change me to a Better Person. I just hope that my Adrenaline continues to flow towards the Extreme Triathlon.

Billy is a motivated athlete, working now to a magic double Swissman and Austria Extreme Triathlon in 1 week!
5) You like to train alone, or you enjoy groupsessions also?
I usually train alone to concentrate better on my Training… but I often go out on Cycle rides or long runs with specific friends like Nikiforos Fokas that we do similar races.
6) Billy, how does a regular working/training day look like for you? You get up when and you work/train when?
My work is only 6 months a year May – October, on these months I’m trying to fit my training in the morning whilst my Wife Barbara is Running the Hotel, when I finish, then she goes home & I look after the Hotel, it’s not easy but when you Love the Sport you make Sacrifices, you have to have all your Family supporting you & Helping you achieve. In the winter I’m trying to spend time with the Family as I dont see them often in t summer.. so I like to train in the Morning whilst they are at school.
Thank you Billy for this nice introduction, another great motivated athlete is presented now! And now we follow you closely on your first 2 upcoming events in Switzerland and Austria!
